Sarah is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (provisional). She received her B.A. from the
University of Iowa in Art Education, a M.L.A in Organizational Development from the University
of St Thomas, a M.S. in Adult Learning & Organizational Performance from Drake University and
a M.A. in Art Therapy, Clinical Counseling and Adlerian Psychology from Adler Graduate School.
Sarah is a member of the American Art Therapy Association, the Iowa Chapter of the American
Art Therapy Association, the North American Society of Adlerian Psychology and the American
Mental Health Counselors Association.  She is currently the Vice President of the Iowa Art
Therapy Association.
Sarah approaches counseling from a blended person-centered approach recognizing each
individual is an accumulation of their own life experiences and circumstances. She is working to
become a registered Art and Expressive Arts Therapist.  Sarah is also trained in EMDR, eye
movement desensitization and reprocessing, an evidence-based trauma treatment.  
Sarah works with clients dealing with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, career
planning, caregiver support, aging and degenerative concerns, and is an ally to the LGBTQIA+
community.
Counseling is Sarah’s second career and she has over 18 years of experience in
