Sometimes being in private practice can be isolating. What is EMDR?

EMDR is an evidence based practice for the relief of symptoms from adverse life experiences and traumatic events. EMDR is appropriate to treat PTSD, Anxiety, Mood Disorders and many other issues.

• Basic Consultation:
  Basic Consultation is provided to those who were trained through EMDR Consulting LLC, as a requirement of EMDRIA. 10 hours of consultation after the academic portion of your basic EMDR training is required to be considered trained. 
• EMDR Certification:
  EMDR Certification is the step after Basic Consultation. You are required an additional 20 hours of consultation, 12 CEs in EMDR, and a minimum of working with 25 clients for a total of 50 hours of EMDR therapy experience. Becoming Certified in EMDR is a privilege and statement that you are serious about using evidence-based, proven effective treatment of trauma. EMDR is effective for many presentations.
• Approved Consultant: 
  EMDR Approved Consultant Status is the next step after Certification. If you are interested in helping others stay true to the model of EMDR, navigate the sometimes difficult presentations and focus on positive change, this is the step for you!

CID/A-TIP: The CPR of Psychological Trauma
A-TIP™ & CID are protocols developed by Roy Kiessling, LISW, of EMDR Consulting LLC., using eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation (BLS/DAS) that may be used by para-professionals (non-mental health providers) to immediately desensitize acute stress in crisis situations. ATIP™ also helps to desensitize intense emotionality brought on by mental health conditions or situations that feel out of control, and helps victims or witnesses of crisis to reduce traumatic or vicarious traumatic stress.

A-TIP™ may be used to address elevated emotional responses related to:

MFCC provides a structured intern program.  Students in their master's programs (marriage and family therapy, mental health counseling, and social work), are provided supervision and opportunities to learn how to provide therapy, diagnose, prepare treatment plans, work with diverse populations, collaborate with other professionals, etc.  All of this, while being a part of our team, interns are incorporated into daily MFCC life.
